Inattention Hyperactivity

Another medication that has been prescribed as safe for autistic children and is called methylphenidate (Ritalin®). People suffering from attention deficit hyperactivity disorder can also use this medication. These medications are known to decrease the level of hyperactivity and impulsivity in children.

Not only have these but a lot of other medications been used to cure the symptoms of Autism. These include the antidepressants like lithium, naltrexone, lorazepam (Ativan®) and diazepam (Valium®). Though their effectiveness on autistic children are not proved yet but it is said to have worked. But again, every human responds in a way that different than other. Therefore, your family doctor would recommend a good course of medication after reviewing your child’s history and behavior.
