Out of every four individuals suffering from ASD one experiences seizures. These people have low IQ levels or they are mute. More than one anticonvulsant are required to treat these patients, the medications include valproic acid (Depakote®), topiramate (Topamax®), lamotrigine (Lamictal®) and carbamazepine (Tegretol®). It should be ensure that the least possible amount of medicine is being used and the level of medication in blood should be monitored. The medication may decrease the frequency of seizures, but it doesn’t cure it completely
