Immediately after watching your vid, I went to the Huffington Post and found an article about the Queen Teabagger (Michelle Bachmann) speaking at a gathering of right-wing loons in Iowa. I think this quote from Michelle, dots the "i" of your observation.

"Because no stimulus, no entitlement reform, no health care initiative, no education revamp can match the power of an intact two-parent family in driving economic growth, health and well being in the United States."

You need both a global minimum wage -and- complete freedom of movement between borders so that no one corner of the world can monopolize production with incentives.

@practicalmagic9 I agree. I wouldn’t want to go to either extreme – a complete lack of initiative, or an autistic lack of collective awareness. So, I would be quite happy to see an element of self-reliance thrown into the mix 🙂

@n3rdm4n Very true. To be honest, we’d need a lot of things – and a very long struggle – if we were going to take society in that direction. But I just threw out the global minimum wage as a wee hint of what could be possible.
